The inspiration for Silly, Silly Goats came from the author, Stephanie Parker's, four Nigerian Dwarf Goats-Josie, Luna, Ivy, and Mila. Watching them frolic in the yard and play together, Stephanie found her happy place and wanted to share some of this happiness with her readers.
Luna is the protector of the group. She will intercede when one of her sisters is in danger. She is gentle and quiet. Luna loves her treats at bedtime and is often the first one in the barn. She loves her belly rubbed and you will often see her rubbing it on the side of a chair. She loves to rub up against our shoes for head rubs.
Josie is the oldest by a couple of weeks and is the Herd Queen. She likes to be the center of attention. Josie is a typical older sister, bossing the other girls around and taking the best spots to lay. She is the most talkative of the group and will let you know how she is feeling about most things.
Ivy is the most-laid back of the group. She will be the last one to leave the barn in the morning. You will often see her laying in the hay pail while eating hay. Ivy is the slowest eater, savoring every bite of her meal. She will often leave the hay rack with some hay on her face. She will hang behind at nighttime to get extra treats!
MIla was the runt of the litter, but don't let her size fool you. She thinks she is bigger than the others and will be the first to stand up to the dogs. She has the sweetest demeanor and will be the first one to greet you when you go out into the yard. She is the very photogenic and loves to pose for pictures!
